After
drawing the pole position, Donald Leathers, Jr. put on a great
show and led the entire race, wire-to-wire. His father Don Leathers,
Sr. started 4th and quickly moved into 2nd place. He attempted
to challenge for the lead early on but by half-way, it was clear
that Don Jr. was the man to beat. League Racer, Tom Nickerson,
did everything he could to get into the lead and even had the
fastest lap in the race, running a 12.86, but it was too little,
too late as Don Leathers, Jr. went on to win his first Checkered
Flag 100 Endurance Race.
